Katharine Hepburn’s Brownies

This is the last brownie recipe you’ll ever need! Intensely chewy chocolate deliciousness!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter
  • 2 one-ounce squares of unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ¼ cup all –purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)

Directions

Melt together 1 stick of butter and 2 (1 ounce) squares of unsweetened chocolate and then take the saucepan off the heat. Stir in 1 cup sugar, add 2 eggs and ½ tsp. vanilla and beat the mixture well. Stir in ¼ cup all-purpose flour and ¼ tsp. salt. If you like, you can add 1 cup of nuts. Bake in a buttered a floured 8 inch square pan at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes.
